Aaron Hargett

Executive Director

Aaron joined the Buckner senior leadership team in 2007. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and has extensive experience in rehabilitation center management. Before becoming the executive director at Baptist Retirement, Aaron served as home health and hospice administrator and director of independent living.

“I enjoy hearing the stories of these senior adults, helping make peoples’ days brighter, and ultimately helping cultivate an environment for people to engage in life at the fullest extent possible.”

Crystal Muniz

Administrator, Sagecrest Alzheimer’s Care Center

Chrystal has been with Baptist Retirement Community senior living staff since 2018. She started in long-term care at age 15 and became a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at 16.  She has held multiple positions at long-term care communities, in areas such as medical records, admissions, reception, nursing and human resources.

“I work with senior adults because of the tangible difference we can make in their lives. My favorite part of my job is learning the stories of the people we serve.”

Tanya Solsbery

RN, Administrator, The Crest Memory Care Assisted Living

Tanya has been part of the Buckner senior living team since 2008. She holds more than 20 years of experience in the senior living industry including home health care, hospice care, long-term acute care and memory care assisted living. At Baptist Retirement, she has served as administrator of home health and hospice and director of assisted living.

“I had the privilege of growing up near my grandparents, which helped shape me into the person I am now. Every day I am inspired to offer the very best to the senior adults I serve, and to the team I work with. It gives me great satisfaction to enrich the lives of the senior adults at Baptist Retirement, as they enrich mine.”

Robert Morales

Director of Sales and Marketing

Robert has been part of the Buckner senior living leadership team since 2013 and holds nearly 25 years of experience in client relationship management.

“My favorite part of the job is listening to the stories of the residents. They all have a story to share. And if you listen carefully, you can learn nuggets of wisdom, fun facts, jokes and words of hope!”

Erin Kelly

Director of Marketing

Erin has been with Buckner since 2011. For more than 15 years, she has served as a marketing and public relations representative for healthcare and senior living entities throughout the Concho Valley.

“Working with senior adults has blessed my life in so many ways. I love being able to help those who come to us wanting to make change in their lives and helping provide that relief. There’s not always an easy answer to aging, but finding solutions alongside my Baptist Retirement team has been a gift.”

Janis Turner

Admissions Coordinator

Janis has served with Baptist Retirement since 1993. She began her time with Buckner working in human resources and has since held multiple positions within both healthcare services and independent living.

“I enjoy helping senior adults and their families through what could be a difficult decision. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the smiles on their faces when the resident is settled into the new living environment and everyone knows it’s going to be okay.”

Kevin McSpadden

Chaplain

Kevin has served with Buckner’s senior living staff since 2004. Before joining the team, he worked as a local pastor for 15 years and a chaplain for 15 years.

“These senior adults are the salt of the earth—people with a wonderful faith in the Lord. Working with them is a true privilege.”

Stephanie Simmons

Director of Dining Services

Stephanie has served with Buckner since 2009 and has worked in the hospitality industry for 25 years.

“I love making people happy! Dining and service are so important to a senior adult’s quality of life. This job brings me so much joy and satisfaction.”

Stan Winkley

RN, Director of Nursing, SageCrest Alzheimer’s Care Center

Stan has served with Baptist Retirement 24 years, working as a charge nurse in long-term care, a home health and hospice nurse, a skilled nursing coordinator and now the director of nursing.

“I got into the nursing field after spending time with my grandfather who was ill while I was in college. My favorite part of my job is getting to know the residents and building relationships with them and their families.”

Karla Durgin

Business Office Director

Karla Durgin began her role as business office manager at Baptist Retirement Community in 2016 but has worked with the Buckner senior living staff for 27 years. Beginning her career as a dietary aide at a nursing home in Iowa, Durgin came full-circle when she moved to Texas and landed a job at Baptist Retirement Community, where he has served in several different capacities.

“If someone had told me 27 years ago that I would still be working at the same place, I would have said ‘Nah – you’re crazy’ but God has had other plans for me. I stay because I enjoy being able to help residents in any way I can,” Durgin said. “I am honored to be a part of this community and I look forward to many more years at Baptist.”

Mary Jackson

Director of Human Resources

Mary has worked in healthcare for 23 years and has served on several local boards.

“I enjoy working at Buckner because it feels like an extension of my family. I’m proud to work for a company that enhances the lives of others. I like knowing I make a difference.”

Greg Flores

Director of Facilities Management

Gregory has been with Buckner since 2016. He is a military veteran with experience in leadership, faculty development, and operations management.

After serving 23 years in the military, I wanted to find a career that was meaningful and one I could be passionate about. I’ve found it here at Buckner through a rewarding position with the opportunity to work closely with senior adults and be part of a community where I can continue serving a higher cause.
