Aaron Hargett

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Aaron joined the Baptist Retirement community senior leadership team in 2007. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and has extensive experience in rehabilitation center management. Before becoming the executive director at Baptist Retirement Community, Aaron served as home health and hospice administrator and director of independent living.

“I enjoy hearing the stories of these senior adults, helping make peoples’ days brighter, and ultimately helping cultivate an environment for people to engage in life at the fullest extent possible.”

Karla Durgin

DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS OFFICE

Karla Durgin began her role as business office manager at Baptist Retirement Community in 2016 after working with Buckner Retirement Services for more than 25 years where she has served in several different roles. Karla began her career as a dietary aide at a community in Iowa.

“If someone had told me that I would still be working at the same place all these years later, I would have said ‘Nah – you’re crazy,’ but God had other plans for me. I stay because I enjoy helping residents in any way I can. I am honored to be a part of this community and I look forward to many more years.”

Greg Flores

DIRECTOR OF PLANT OPERATIONS

Gregory has been with Baptist Retirement community since 2016. He is a military veteran with experience in leadership, faculty development, and operations management.

“After serving 23 years in the military, I wanted to find a career that was meaningful and one I could be passionate about. I’ve found it here at Baptist Retirement community through a rewarding position with the opportunity to work closely with senior adults and be part of a community where I can continue serving a higher cause.”

Mary Jackson

Mary joined Baptist Retirement Community in 1996 as the Director of Human Resources where she brings many years of healthcare experience.

Erin Kelly

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

Erin joined Baptist Retirement Community in 2011 where she serves as the marketing and public relations representative for healthcare and senior living.

“Working with senior adults has blessed my life in so many ways. I love being able to help those who come to us wanting to make change in their lives and helping provide that relief. There’s not always an easy answer to aging, but finding solutions alongside my Baptist Retirement Community team has been a gift.”

Kevin McSpadden

CHAPLAIN

Kevin has served with Baptist Retirement community’s senior living staff since 2004. Before joining the team, he worked as a local pastor for 15 years and a chaplain for 15 years.

Stephanie Simmons

DIRECTOR OF CULINARY SERVICES

Stephanie joined Baptist Retirement Community in 2009 as the Director of Culinary Services bringing a wealth of knowledge from her long career in the hospitality industry.

Tanya Solsbery

RN, ADMINISTRATOR, THE CREST MEMORY CARE ASSISTED LIVING

Tanya has been part of the Baptist Retirement community senior living team since 2008. She holds more than 20 years of experience in the senior living industry including home health care, hospice care, long-term acute care and memory care assisted living. At Baptist Retirement Community, she has served as administrator of home health and hospice and director of assisted living.

“I had the privilege of growing up near my grandparents, which helped shape me into the person I am now. Every day I am inspired to offer the very best to the senior adults I serve, and to the team I work with. It gives me great satisfaction to enrich the lives of the senior adults at Baptist Retirement Community, as they enrich mine.”

Janis Turner

ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR

Janis has served with Baptist Retirement Community since 1993. She began her time with Baptist Retirement community working in human resources and has since held multiple positions within both healthcare services and independent living.

“I enjoy helping senior adults and their families through what could be a difficult decision. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the smiles on their faces when the resident is settled into the new living environment and everyone knows it’s going to be okay.”

Michelle Wendt

SENIOR LIVING SALES DIRECTOR

Michelle has served Baptist Retirement Community and its residents since 2016 when she began as a social worker intern while finishing her degree. Upon graduating, Michelle joined the team fulltime as a social worker at Sagecrest. Michelle now serves as the Senior Living Sales Director where she continues helping guide seniors through their retirement living options.

“Whether I’m in the healthcare field, or enriching lives in independent living, working with seniors has been and will always be a passion of mine.”

Stan Winkley

RN, DIRECTOR OF NURSING, SAGECREST ALZHEIMER’S CARE CENTER

Stan began serving the residents of Baptist Retirement Community in 1994 where he has served as a charge nurse in long-term care, a home health and hospice nurse, a skilled nursing coordinator and now as the Director of Nursing.

“I got into the nursing field after spending time with my grandfather who was ill while I was in college. My favorite part of my job is getting to know the residents and building relationships with them and their families.”

Daisy Toms

Daisy was hired as the Sagecrest Alzheimer’s Care Center Healthcare Administrator in 2021. With more than two decades of senior living experience, Daisy has worked in various departments such as medical records, central supply, HIPPA compliance, facility management, staffing and as a certified nurse’s aide. She has knowledge and expertise in a variety of different healthcare settings including ICF/IDD, long term care/skilled nursing, home health, and acute care hospitals. Daisy became a licensed nursing home administrator in 2019.

“I feel an overwhelming responsibility to advocate for the aging population and believe it is my calling and a pleasure to help ensure each resident receives the most adequate care possible. I enjoy being able to provide compassionate and quality care to elders through all that we do at Baptist Retirement Community.”
